What I Do Not Do
This is not a certified legal, medical, academic, or official translation service.
This is not a replacement for denominational review, pastoral review, or theological approval.
This service is best suited for Christian educational, devotional, discipleship, and ministry materials.
If your project requires formal certification, publication-level translation from scratch, or specialized theological review, I may recommend a professional translator or subject-matter expert.

You’ve written a Bible study, devotional, lesson, worksheet, or ministry resource in English—and now you want to make it available to Spanish-speaking readers.
AI translation can give you a starting point, but it can't fully understand tone, theology, culture, ministry purpose, or the warmth of a human voice.
That’s where I come in.
At Write Start Fiction Studio, I offer Spanish editing and humanizing services for AI-translated Christian materials, especially Bible studies, devotionals, teaching guides, and discipleship resources. This service is designed for Christian writers, teachers, churches, and ministries who have used AI to translate their English content into Spanish but want a human editor to review, smooth, clarify, and strengthen the final version before sharing it with readers.
"April edited the Spanish translation of our Bible study, and I couldn't be happier with her work. She responded promptly, respected our voice and our vision, answered our questions, and went above and beyond our expectations. Her knowledge of the Spanish language and the Old Testament, as well as her editing skill, is amazing. And she returned her edits ahead of schedule!"
~ Judy Duarte, JESUS REVEALED: Patterns and Prophecies in the Old Testament

How It Works
1. Send your materials
You’ll send both documents:
-
The original English version
-
The AI-translated Spanish version
Word documents only please (Times New Roman, 12-pt. font, double-spaced).
2. I review the project
I’ll look at the length, quality of the English manuscript and of the AI translation, complexity of the material, and level of editing needed. If requested, I'll provide a sample edit (see above for fee).
3. You receive a quote
I’ll send a custom quote based on word count, service level, and turnaround time.
4. I line edit the Spanish draft
I’ll work through the Spanish version carefully, verifying against the English version and smoothing the language for real readers.
5. You receive the edited file
You’ll receive the edited Spanish version with suggested changes applied with Track Changes and comments where appropriate.
6. You return the draft
After accepting or rejecting recommended edits, you return the draft for a second-pass edit.
7. I proofread the Spanish draft
Using the tidied copy of the manuscript, I edit with a closer eye, looking for anything missed in the first pass.
A Note About AI Translation
AI can be a helpful tool, but it often produces Spanish that is technically understandable yet stiff, overly literal, or unnatural. It may also flatten your voice, mishandle Christian language or theology, skip entire sentences, or miss the warmth and nuance your readers need. A human editor helps bridge that gap. Your message matters. The Spanish version should carry that message with clarity, care, and dignity.
A Note About the English Original
The quality of the Spanish version depends heavily on the quality of the English source text. If the original contains unclear wording, grammatical errors, confusing structure, or undeveloped ideas, those issues often carry over into the translation process.
For that reason, my goal is not to produce a word-for-word Spanish equivalent of every sentence. Instead, I work to preserve the author's intended meaning while creating a Spanish version that reads naturally and clearly. This may require adjusting sentence structure, rephrasing awkward passages, or resolving ambiguities present in the English text.
In cases where the English manuscript requires substantial editing before a reliable Spanish version can be produced, I may recommend an English edit first or suggest revisions to the source text before proceeding.
Ready to Begin?
If you have a Bible study, devotional, or Christian resource you’d like to offer in Spanish, I’d be glad to take a look.
Send your English original and AI-translated Spanish draft, and I’ll recommend the best editing level for your project.

Why Work With Me?
My connection to the Spanish language began long before I became an editor. As the daughter of missionaries, I spent much of my childhood in Spain, where Spanish was woven into daily life, ministry, education, and relationships. That experience gave me not only exposure to the language itself, but also an appreciation for the cultural nuances that shape communication.
Later, I pursued university studies that included minors in Comparative Studies and Foreign Languages, with coursework in Spanish and Italian. Combined with years of experience writing Christian fiction, Bible studies, and biblical commentary, this background allows me to approach Spanish editing with both linguistic sensitivity and a writer's understanding of how ideas, tone, and teaching objectives must be communicated clearly.
